Biwater Treatment Ltd brings together complete design and construction teams of process, civil design, construction, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering expertise that are uniquely dedicated to water industry. As a group our turnover has increased significantly over the last 4 years from £65m to £145m. We have recently won several major long term framework agreements throughout the UK, and have an order book of £800m over the next 5 years. We have also recently been awarded company of the year from the Manchester Evening News.
Due to recent awards throughout the UK we are looking to strengthen our Plant Department with a Depot Manager. The Depot Manager shall assist with the efficient running of the Plant Department whilst liaising with all necessary internal and external parties. You will report directly to the Plant Manager.
Duties/responsibilities of this role will include:
• Ensure that plant and equipment owned and operated by the department is repaired on time, to specification and within budget
• Ensure that any equipment requiring legislative cover has the correct legislation documents
• Responsibility for depot profit and loss
• Assist to monitor and control department overhead budget
• Recover costs where possible i.e damage costs
• Produce all required reports
• Assist in the departmental financial procedures
• Work to and maintain the procedures and processes to ensure the continuing development of the department
• Monitor, review and update where necessary all the procedures and processes to aid the smooth running of the department
• Maintaining all equipment to a high standard to meet the company’s quality standards
• Ensure a safe working environment for all staff
• Promote an environment in which health & safety considerations are central to all tasks, and in which employees contribute to ensuing safe working environment for themselves and colleagues
• Provide services which focus on customer satisfaction
• Recognise that satisfying the customer is the key to achieving other objectives, and that customers include everyone receiving benefit from our services, whether end users or other departments within the company
Knowledge/Experience
• Plant knowledge
• Working knowledge of legislation effecting plant and equipment
• Working knowledge of LOLER and PUWER
• 10 years experience in a plant hire environment including craneage
Education/Qualifications
• High standard of education
• Workshop experience preferred
• Suitably qualified in Health & Safety and environmental legislation
