Biwater Treatment Ltd brings together complete design and construction teams of process, civil design, construction, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering expertise that are uniquely dedicated to water industry. As a group our turnover has increased significantly over the last 4 years from £65m to £145m. We have recently won several major long term framework agreements throughout the UK, and have an order book of £800m over the next 5 years. We have also recently been awarded company of the year from the Manchester Evening News.
Due to a recent award with Thames Water we are looking to strengthen our Operations team with experienced Site Agents. As Site Agent you will manage all site activities to a timely completion and within the financial constraints of the contract, without risk to the health and safety of all concerned whilst providing a quality end product to the satisfaction of the client. You will report directly to the Project Manager.
Duties/responsibilities of the role will include:
• Ensure site construction costs do not exceed tender/varied allowance
• Maintain good client relationships
• Ensure projects are completed on time
• Manage and control all on-site construction and commercial aspects of the project
• Manage and control all subcontractors
• Plan and programme the works
• Ensure financial targets are met
• Liaison with client representative on site specific matters
• Assist in the contract performance review
• Assist in the development of site staff by ensuring the subordinates adopt good working practices and are given the opportunity to develop their skills
• Ensure that the company procedures are fully implemented
• Ensure that the works are constructed to a good quality in line with the specification and good working practice
• Ensure that all construction is carried out fully in line with current legislation and the company’s health and safety policy and procedures
• Ensure a safe working environment for all company employees, subcontractors, client employees, visitors and third parties is maintained on site at all times
• Ensure that full risk assessments are carried out
Knowledge/Experience
• Civil Engineering background, preferably in the water industry
• At least 6 years site construction experience
• Working knowledge of various conditions of contract
• Experienced in H&S management practices
Education/Qualifications
• Degree or HND in civil engineering required
• Relevant professional qualification an advantage
• Safety qualification an advantage
