Biwater Treatment Ltd brings together complete design and construction teams of process, civil design, construction, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering expertise that are uniquely dedicated to water industry. As a group our turnover has increased significantly over the last 4 years from £65m to £145m. We have recently won several major long term framework agreements throughout the UK, and have an order book of £800m over the next 5 years. We have also recently been awarded company of the year from the Manchester Evening News.
Due to a recent award with Thames Water we are looking to strengthen our Proposals team with an experienced Proposals Manager. You will ensure that through the submission of accurate and competitive tenders that satisfy our client’s drivers, the company secures adequate new business to achieve targeted turnover and profit levels with appropriate year on year growth. You will report directly to the Proposals & Marketing Director and duties/responsibilities of the role will include;

Ensure efficient management and co-ordination of the proposals department.

Ensure plans are in place for all tenders under preparation and review these as appropriate during the tender preparation period.

Provide management advice on technical and commercial issues of tender preparation.
·
Manage the department budget and maximise charge-outs.
·
Maintain an up to date awareness and knowledge of Technical developments within the industry.
·
Ensure an innovative approach to project design and process selection is adopted.
·
Build long term industry relationships with clients and strategic partners.
·
Align tender enquiry lists with the company supply chain management strategy.
·
Monitor market conditions and trends within the industry.
·
Monitor department loading and output demands and report impacts to superiors.
·
Maintain an awareness of the strategic aims and direction of the company.
·
Maintain commercial awareness and an understanding of the conditions within which the company operates.
·
Manage risk assessments and maximise mitigation of risk.
·
Advising on development needs for current and future roles.
·
Implement latest H&S regulations and legislation.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
·
At least 10 years experience of the water treatment industry.
·
Thorough knowledge of the commercial issues that exist and impact on the water industry and supply chain.
·
Knowledge of the processes, equipment and services that are used in the water industry.
·
Understanding of partnering and framework arrangements and the available commercial arrangements within strategic alliances.
