Procurement
Biwater procurement objective is to operate a best  in class approach. This enables Biwater to obtain the “Best Value” that it can from its supply chain. “Best Value” encompasses consideration of elements such as purchase price, programme, quality, reliability, logistics, operating cost, maintenance requirements, security of supply, sustainability and environmental impact and, most importantly, the health and safety of all involved.

 

Sustainable Procurement
Our sustainability objectives are to balance economic objectives with social and environmental stewardship. In order to meet these we shall engage the support of our supply chain and work collaboratively to provide whole life cost-effective solutions that are aligned to our sustainability objectives and that of our customers and other priority stakeholders.

 

Quality
We recognise the importance of quality assurance in all aspects of work undertaken. Our objective is to satisfy the clients' needs and expectations as well as ensuring that contracts are executed in accordance with the specified requirements, on time and for the optimum cost. It is therefore our policy to operate a quality management system complying with the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001 and to achieve continual quality improvement.

 

Information Technology
We recognise that Information Technology (IT) is a key competitive tool that assists the company to achieve its objective of business excellence.  Therefore we regularly review our IT systems to ensure that we operate as efficiently as possible.

Waste Minimisation
Biwater policy is to apply waste minimisation principles throughout the business and work with our supply chain and clients to identify opportunities. Biwater is committed to following the Waste Hierarchy and training and communicating to all employees and supply chain our legal and company requirements to continually improve on waste management.

 

Communities
Biwater is committed to being a socially responsible business that will continue to contribute to the communities in which we operate. Our policy is to minimise the impact of our activities on local communities whilst at the same time making a lasting contribution to society.

 

Considerate Constructors
Biwater’s objective is to carry out our business in such a manner as to minimise the effect on the environment and communities whilst continuing to provide value to our customers. The Considerate Constructors Scheme is adopted to provide focus to meet our objective. Our sites will comply with the Considerate Contractors Scheme’s Code of Conduct – Considerate, Environment, Cleanliness, Good neighbours, Respectful, Safe, Responsible and Accountable.


 

 

North West
This was a £21.5M project to make improvements to Watchgate water treatment works as well as providing sludge treatment facilities.
