This was a  new double oxidation ditch scheme to meet a tightening consent as part of the urban Wastewater Treatment Directive.  The scheme comprised:

  • a temporary access road,
  • new screening,
  • two new oxidation ditches,
  • two new FST’s complete with RAS/SAS pumping,   
  • new washwater pumping system 
  • liquor returns facilities
  • 1 No anoxic zone
  • 2 No template oxidation ditches
  • 2 No final settlement tanks
  • return activated sludge pumping station
  • surplus activated sludge pumping station
  • new liquors return pumping
  • new surplus sludge thickener
  • thickened surplus sludge storage
  • new washwater pumping
